MAG 322 that has been working for a year suddenly boots straight to a black screen with "Portal loading" and just sits there. No error, no timeout message. Portal URL hasn't changed. Firmware is 0.2.18. Have I bricked something?

Not bricked. In order of likelihood: 1. **Provider moved the portal** — email support with your MAC, they'll issue a new URL. Enter under Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals. 2. **DNS**: set Manual DNS to `8.8.8.8` and reboot. 3. **Firmware too old** — 0.2.18 is the classic image; some portals now require newer stalker clients. Check System settings → Software auto update. 4. **MAC binding** — if the box was reset, the MAC the provider whitelisted may no longer match. Read the MAC from the sticker and re‑bind with your provider. 5. **URL trailing slash** — try with and without.
