Random buffering only on sports channels

Everything plays fine — movies, news, regular HD — but live sports buffer every 30-60s. Sound familiar? Here's the checklist that fixed it for 9 out of 10 people in our discord. ## Why sports specifically Sports = highest bitrate (often 4K HDR or multi-audio 50fps) AND highest concurrent viewers on the server. So it's the first thing to choke when: 1. **Server is overloaded** at kickoff — try a different backup server from your provider. 2. **Wi-Fi 2.4GHz** can't sustain 25+ Mbps reliably during peak — switch to 5GHz or ethernet. 3. **ISP throttling** specific to streaming during prime time — VPN test (Surfshark, NordVPN) for one match. 4. **Buffer size too small** — TiviMate → Playback → set buffer to 3000ms. ## Quick diagnostic Open the same channel via VLC on a laptop on the same network. If it buffers there too → server-side. If it plays fine → your TV/box config. Don't blame the provider until you've tested ethernet + VPN.
