Firestick 4K storage is full after installing IPTV apps — anything safe to clear?

by med S · 7/5/2026 · 0 views

My Firestick 4K (not Max) now says "Insufficient storage" every time I try to update anything. I have TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, Downloader, VLC and a couple of setup apps. What's actually eating the 8 GB?

On the non‑Max 4K stick you get ~5 GB usable. Biggest culprits in order: 1. **IPTV Smarters cache** (often 500 MB–1.5 GB) — Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Apps → IPTV Smarters → **Clear cache**. 2. **TiviMate EPG cache** — same steps, or inside TiviMate: Settings → EPG → Clear cache. 3. **Downloader downloads** — every sideloaded APK stays in `/sdcard/Downloader/`. Delete after install. 4. **VLC thumbnail cache** — clear the same way. 5. **Failed OS update files** — a reboot often flushes these. Rule of thumb: one IPTV player as daily driver + VLC as fallback.
